A set of five beads im what I call my Pollackesque design. The base beads are half transparent green and half opaque pale green. A layer of green frit has been applied then a trail of metalic stringers run around each bead.
Two small lentil shape beads measure 18mm, two mediumm nugets at 22mm and one large lentil at 24mm. The have small holes.
A set of six tyre shaped, transparent lime green beads overlaid with frit in tones of yellow, peachie orange and duck egg blue. Nice and bright, these beads would make good larger spacers or on their as the main attraction on a piece of jewellery. They measure approx 15/16mm x 11/12mm and have small holes.
The name says it all for this set of five button shaped beads. Made of a deep shade of lilac, the glass has an opalescent appearance to it. A stripe of silvered ivory with a little twist, runs down the middle of each bead .
Three are 22mm and two smaller beads are 18mm approx. They have a small hole.
This set remind me of big, flouncy polka dot skirts, twirlling around the floor of a 1950's dance. They have a deep red opaque core, encased with a thick coat of pink/red transparent glass. Each bead has a different dot design. Etched for a soft, velverty look.
They measure 16mmx12mm approx and have a small hole.
A lovely, summery set of five spotty beads. Again they remind me of the big, flouncy skirts worn to dances in the 1950's. They have an acid yellow core with a thick encasing of medium yellow glass. The white dot design is the same on each bead. Etched for a soft, velverty look.
These are 15mmx12mm approx and have a small hole.
This set of five beads are a bit different from my usual. A base of purple frit, they were shaped and twisted and finally fumed in gold. The gold fumes have turned them bronze but, if you look very carefully you can see the base colours peeping through.
Each bead is approx 18mm x 21mm and has been made on a small mandrel.
A set of five pillow shaped beads with six contrasting spacers here. The five pillows are transparent aquamarine, overlaid with a darker transparent blue frit. Silver leaf was melted into the glass before the frit was added giving lovely, silvery, snails trails over the beads. The six spacers are the base glass of of aquamarine etched for a soft, contrasting effect.
Three of the pillows are 21mm square and two are 15mm square. The spacers are 11 - 12mm x 9 - 10mm.
All made on a small mandrel
A set of nine red frit beads. Each bead has a white base covered with red frit, then encased in a sparkly clear. The red varies from a light red to a dark red with the white peeping out occasionally. A randem trail of clear glass wanders around each bead, which has been left partly raised to catch the light. Size approx. 10/13mm hole to hole x 15/16mm across. Made on a small mandrel.
